Coronavirus UK: Deaths pass 100,000

The UK has passed a grim milestone as the battle against coronavirus contuies, more than 100,000 people have died after catching coronavirus.

A further 1,631 people were reported to have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, taking the total number to 100,162 since the start of the pandemic.

The government figures were released after the Office for National Statistics (ONS) – which uses a different counting method – this morning said the number had already passed 100,000.

On 11 November 2020, the UK had recorded 50,000 deaths with COVID-19.

It has taken just 76 days for that figure to double.

Worldwide 2.1m deaths and 100,000,000 cases

World wide they have been over 2.1m death reported.

The USA has reported the most amount of deaths with 432,031, followed by Brazil 217,806, India 153,722, Mexico 150,273 and the UK in 5th with 100,162.

While cases are still rising and virus variant have shown to also be more infectious.

With 100,486,796 cases reported worldwide, the USA once again take the number spot with 25,874,814, followed by India 10,689,202, Brazil 8,881,853, Russia 3,756,931 and in 5th again the UK with 3,689,746.

In Turkey, there has been 2,442,350 coronavirus case and 25,344 deaths.
