£16,000 raised for Baby Metehan with online bazaar

 

HILAL Dinler, Derya Gökçe, Elif Kaygusuz, Merve Kepil, Hilal Kepil, Selma Turan, Merve Turan, Mübine Aydın, Nursen Gürbüzisimli, which consisted of a group of volunteers named ‘Angels of Metehan’ with the support of Luton Turkish Cultural Center President Atilla Üstün ladies put the materials given by charitable donors in London on live broadcast with volunteers.

The donations collected with all the income of the online bazaar were deposited into the account opened for Baby Metehan’s SMA treatment.

To support Metehan, the Turkish Cultural Center in Luton and the Leicester Turkish Cultural Association joined forces and launched an aid campaign. As a continuation of the campaign, it takes place in the mosque meeting room of the British Turkish Religious Foundation in London.

Luton Turkish cultural centre head Atilla Üstün said the following about the donation campaign: ‘‘ We took care of our baby Metehan. Sixteen thousand pounds of donations were collected in six hours for the bazaar organized to keep Metehan alive.”

“I thank the authorities and all donors, volunteers. Let’s be a breath to our child, let Metehan not die. Since it was a pandemic process, we made our sales on the internet. “Metehan’s campaign continues, please let’s support.”

Father Tuncay Fidan said, “The NHS does not cover the treatment of Metehan ‘Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1’, our 11-month-old baby. First, an aid campaign was started with the support of the Turkish community. Later, they supported the campaign to help people of other nationalities. It turned into an international aid campaign with the support of non-governmental organizations. I would like to thank everyone who supported. ”

£1.9m was the aim to for Zolgensma treatment, so far £1.4m has been raised Baby Metehan.
