London musician Sezin Angelova releases new song ‘Alchemy’

Sezin Angelova

London-based jazz vocalist and songwriter Sezin Angelova’s first single “Alchemy” was released on the digital platform on Sunday, November 29th. “Alchemy” was featured on Jez Nelson’s program on Jazz FM, one of the leading prestigious radios of England on the first day of its release.

Sezin describes this first single released as follows: “Alchemy is a word that has many meanings, each with different depth. Alchemy in Turkish; It means the gift of God in the old African language. The ancient art of alchemy is to seek the soul in matter. This is our practice of inner transformation through lifetimes made up of fractal patterns and cycles where we manage to break some and repeat others. Although some periods are tough like today, they evolve us a lot. In each cycle; we learn to master our most authentic selves.

The theme of this song is to accept all repetitive ups and downs as they are and to create life energy and joy out of it. This song is to remind us of the sanctity of every moment, and that’s it. ”

The song, produced by the multi-instrumentalist and composer Cömert Jomy Jai, brought together jazz musicians from many different schools living in London. Every stage of the song, including the writing, recording process and video clip, was completed at home during the quarantine period.

Cömert Jomy Jai

Jai, performer and producer in many well-known venues and festivals of the London underground jazz school, such as Bestival, Mandrea, Wave-G-Treffen, KoKo, Jazz Cafe, Scala, Passing Clouds and ORO Stage, which he managed for a period.. He also contributed to many albums as a musician and arranger. He creates his own original music by blending jazz, electronic and world music with the avant-garde effects of his cultural roots.

Sezin and Jomy created a futuristic concept that finds meaning with repetitive advances and also incorporates the timbre in their ears. In these songs, it is possible to find clues from the cultures, experiences, voices and resonance of the different addresses they live in. They believe that these songs will be among the first representatives of a new era in this period of dynamism when everyone embarks on an inner journey.
