Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information following a shooting in Hackney.
Police were called at 8.52 pm on Sunday, 22 November to Westgate Street, E8 following reports of a shooting.
Officers attended with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found a 32-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot injury.
CPR was administered at the scene by officers prior to LAS arrival. She was then taken to an east London hospital; her condition remains life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Matt Webb, said: “I am urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Westgate Street last night to come forward and speak with us. We have been told that the area was busy at the time of the shooting, and I am confident that someone has information that will help our investigation.
“At this early stage, we believe that the victim was an innocent bystander. I need your help to establish the events leading up to the shooting. Please make that call.”
There have been no arrests at this time. A crime scene is in place and enquiries, including a review of local CCTV, continue.
