Tragic death of young Ezra Kemal

A young Turkish Cypriot woman looking for help after a car she was in caught fire, tragically fell to her death from a bridge.

The 24-year-old, Azra Kemal, died after falling from a bridge on the A21 between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge yesterday.

One friend has posted: “In the early hours of yesterday morning, our beautiful friend Azra was tragically taken from us.”

Police were called just after 2.30am and the air ambulance was also sent, alongside paramedics, who found a car engulfed in flames.

Tragically, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Kent police said today: “Detectives investigating the circumstances around the death of a woman who fell from a bridge on the A21 are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances and are now preparing a report for the coroner.

“Kent Police was called at 2.34am on July 16 after the woman fell, near an exit for Tonbridge, onto land below.

“She was declared deceased at the scene by South East Coast Ambulance Service.

“The woman, who was aged 24 years and from London, is understood to have fallen while seeking assistance after a car she was travelling in caught alight.

“A 31-year-old man, from London, who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released without charge.”
