£500 reward to catch Enfield’s flytippers

Residents are being offered £500 to help catch flytippers in the Brimsdown area.

These are some of CCTV pictures released by Enfield Council

Enfield Council has released photographs of people it suspects illegally dumped their rubbish on Carterhatch Road, to the east of the borough, in April this year.

Anyone who provide information that leads to the successful conviction of any of the people in these photographs will receive a £500 reward, the council said.

FIVE YEARS IN PRISON

Flytipping is an offence which carries an unlimited fine or up to five years in prison.

Cllr Chris Bond, Cabinet Member for Environment said: “Flytipping blights our streets, causes mess and costs taxpayers money to clean up afterwards and all because certain selfish individuals cannot be bothered to get rid of their waste properly.

“Carterhatch Road has been a flytipping hotspot for a while, and we want to speak to the people caught here on CCTV in relation to flytipping offences. If you know who these people are please let us know because you could get your hands on £500 and that certainly isn’t a rubbish offer!”

Anyone who believes they know the names of the people in these photos should contact Enfiled Council on 020 8379 5422 quoting ref no WK/214012940.
