The number of people who have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus has risen by 11 – the lowest daily rise since before lockdown began.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said 44,830 people had died in the nation’s hospitals, care homes and across the wider community after testing positive for the disease as of 5pm on Sunday.
It is the lowest number reported by the DHSC since March 12 – two weeks before Boris Johnson instructed the country to “stay at home”.
However, figures tend to be lower on Mondays due to a lag in reporting over the weekend.
