The NORTHWEST Turkish Community Association (NWTCA) celebrated April 23 Children’s Day in Manchester.
The event, which was held on Sunday, 28 April, was celebrated on April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel with great enthusiasm for the participation of children and guests.
The guests from Manchester and the surrounding cities, the fifth of the NWTCA Children’s Festival, which became traditional now with the intense participation of parents and students, took place in the hotel’s ballroom in the city centre.
Following the Turkish National Anthem, students of NW Turkish Academy presented their Turkish poems, choral songs, individual performances and traditional dance performances. The demonstrations ended with the performance of the Bosnian Weekend School, which attended the festival with a folklore show.
The beginning of the association is based on the “Northwest Turks” social solidarity group, which began to serve in 2009. On April 5, 2016, this group became an official association with the North West Turkish Community Association, which was registered with the association of associations.
The aims of the Association are to help the community living in Northwest England and Manchester on cultural, educational, instructional, social, artistic and cooperative matters, to enable people to meet, to solidify their solidarity, to promote culture and to represent the country in the best way.
