ONE of Turkey’s top universities, Middle East Technical University’s graduates, which brings together the London Middle East Technical University Alumni Association METU -UK scholarship by the UK to contribute at an event held in Jazzgir restaurant in Canary Wharf.
METU-UK Alumni Association’s Social Secretary Gürsen Altin thanked the members of the association for attending the meeting.
In the magical atmosphere of Jazzgir Restaurant, Pianist Ayşe Deniz Gökçin, who has lived in London for about 8 years and continues her professional music life after completing her master’s degree at Royal Academy of Music, gave a great concert.
In her program Mozart’s Turkish Anthem, Çökertme, Chopin’s sonata no. 2, her own Chopin prelude arrangements, and Fazil Say’s four city sonata ‘Gökçin’ who plays Sivas, her father is also a METU graduate expressed happiness at being there.
The association formed by the METU graduates living in the United Kingdom announced that they would donate all income from this event to the METU Scholarship Fund. In 2003, there were 500 members in operation throughout the UK. The METU Scholarship Fund helps many METU students to pay for their education each year.
