A man has lost his life in an underpass at Westminster Tube Station during the freezing cold weather Tuesday night.
Police and paramedics arrived to the Tube station after 7am Wednesday morning after he was not responding in a space where homeless sleepers often spend the night.
Homeless people can frequently be found sleeping in the chilly passageway outside the door in the early mornings and temperature decreased below freezing overnight in central London.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.16am today to Westminster tube station, to reports of a man not breathing.
We sent a team leader, an advanced paramedic, a cycle responder and two ambulance crews.
Sadly, despite resuscitation efforts, he died at the scene.”
