The council intends to contact people living in the most costly properties and request them to pay a £833 voluntary fee.
It would be additional of the council tax they currently pay.
The notion may occur ambitious to some however, there some are supporting to this idea within wealth residents, subsequent to 400 people claiming they were in favour of the initiative during a consultation.
Which has resulted to the scheme being consented the council is now taking forward the plan which will have an effect on those in the highest council tax column.
However, Council leader Nickie Aiken remained positive and stated the scheme portrayed the “the kind and generous spirit of Westminster residents
It also confirmed what I had heard from people I had met on the doorstep that those in the more expensive homes are willing to contribute more to community projects,” she said.
Properties in Westminster cost an average of 1,522,098, according to Foxtons.
