New Year’s message from Zehra Başaran

NORTHERN Cyprus Representative Zehra Başaran shared her well wishes by publishing a pre-new message. Referring to the negotiation process that took place in her message, Başaran reproached on the embargo on the North Cyprus. Başaran’s message is as follows:

“As it is known, negotiations that have been underway for 50 years in Cyprus have once again failed in July 2017. Undoubtedly, the greatest responsibility of this failure is the uncompromising attitude of the Greek Cypriot Administration, which has been unfairly recognised by the international community as the “Republic of Cyprus” and continues to benefit from all the blessings of recognition.

On the other hand, the Turkish Cypriot side, which has shown its utmost endeavour to reach the solution, continues to be exposed to insulations and embargoes in every aspect of everyday life and is excluded by the international community. It is crucial that England, one of Cyprus’ s Guarantor States, take this step to end this injustice that the Turkish Cypriot Community, which is not given the right to open up to any public domain until the artistic activities of spodan education, trade.

Anyone who has been living in the UK for over a hundred years and who is part of the community and who is beside the Turkish Cypriots will help to overcome the injustice that society has been subjected to. I would like to greet everyone with the utmost respect that every effort to be made in this direction in 2018 will bring the Turkish Cypriot community and humanity to a better future.”
