THE SERIES of seminars run by TWPA continued with the “Nutrition” seminar with Nutrition Consultant Çiğdem Seçen.
Turkish Women’s Philanthropic Association of England (TWPA) has added a new addition to its activities and seminars that were launched after the summer period. The TWPA held the seminar to draw attention to the issue of wrong nutrition. At the centre of TWPA on November 3, Friday morning at 11am, the speaker of the seminar was Nutrition Counselling Çiğdem Seçen. Before she started the seminar, she shown how to perform face exercises to the participants and explained how to have the right nutrition diet, its benefits is and how to do it.
START THE DAY WITH WATER
Seçen, who says “have a glass of warm water when you wake up” for those who want to wake up in the morning and work their metabolism more smoothly, saying that this is one of the secrets of Asians’ healthy and long life. “When you pour cold water into an oily pan, it does not go down, but when you pour hot water, the oil starts to melt. Warm water with lemon in the mornings is very healthy. The reason we get headaches is because we don’t drink enough water, which can also lead to other illnesses”.
APRICOT FOR ENERGY
Alongside the warm water intake recommendation, Seçen also suggested apricots. She stated “apricots will provide your daily sugar intake.”
WALNUTS AGAINST CHOLESTORAL
Those suffering from high cholesterol levels should put two or three pieces of walnut inside a cup of warm water at night and drink it when they wake up in the morning. Seçen, “The magnesium and omega levels of the walnut is good for the body.”
STAY FIT WITH DETOX
She stated that the human body need dry and liquid food as well as water, and said that you could stay fit with detoxified waters. “Adding cinnamon, fresh turmeric and clove to your water will increase your willingness to drink water and keep you fit.”
BEAUTY WITH HERBAL TEA
Nutritional researchers have found that black tea thins the blood, Seçen stated talked about the benefits of drinking herbal and green teas. “Try to drink green tea or herbal teas. The black tea habit from our culture can adversely affect our health because the black tea has revealed that it thins our blood. Dried daisy and roses will both help your skin and make you look younger.”
