INSPECTION done by food hygiene inspectors found out that the person named Ahmet Şükrü in Swanley district of Kent city meat sold past its use by date and threatened public health. Inspectors who saw that past chicken meat were mashed with the help of a concrete mixer also found that labels suggest the meat were produced in England but was infact produced in Germany.The case was heard at the Maidstone Royal Court also revealed that the company owner, Şükrü, claimed to have previously sold meat as an animal feed but accepted 21 guilty pleas because of subsequent evidence.
PENALTY CHARGE AND IMPRISONMENT
UK Chicken Doner & Poultry Limited has been found guilty of UK Food Safety Law, which is also known to supply many Turkish restaurants and kebab meat. It was decided for the company to pay a penalty charge of £30,000 and £23,760 in court fees. In addition to the penalty of £53,760 pounds in total, the company owner Ahmet Şükrü has been sentenced to 4 months imprisonment.Regarding the matter, Prosecutor David Hercock stated that the company had been warned twice before and could not operate until it was approved for re-organization and added:”Although the company was warned that we made separately in December 2015 and January 2016, the company continued production and drove its products to the market outside health and hygiene regulations. It has been determined that products sold under the supervision are absolutely not suitable for human consumption.”
