Turkish Kurdish Solidarity Centre (Day-Mer) organised a special reception to tackle and introduce the upcoming 28th Day-Mer Culture and Arts Festival.
The event that took place at Day-Mer’s community centre based in Bruce Grove, many politicians, local councillors and charity representatives did attend the event. The guests who enjoyed the tasty treats also had the chance of learning more on the festival.
Speaking at the event, Day-Mer’s Chairperson Aslı Gül tackled the Grenfell tower’s tragedy by referring the event to as “worrying”.

“This year’s festival also draws on the current social issue and needs our communities encounter and seeks to provide a platform for sections of communities to come together, discuss their issues and enjoy themselves. Once again we will send strong messages of furthering the harmonious interaction between sections of the society.
“The festival events, made up of children’s and youth events, of discussions and drama performances, are spread over a month (14 June – 2 July) at venues in Hackney and Haringey, ending with the long-established park festival that will take place in Clissold Park on Sunday, 2nd July. “ said Ms Gül.
Speaking to Londra Gazete, Haringey Councillor Peray Ahmet on the other hand stated that the intertwinement of sports arts and culture at the upcoming festival will see unforgettable joy and solidarity examples.
