A group of Kurdish protesters and activist came together in front of parliament, Westminster, London, January 5th 2016, at 13:00pm.

Turkey has been engaging in an assault since September in Kurdish areas, killing many militants as well a lot of civilians. Organised by the Kurdish People’s assembly, the group of up to 100 protestors demonstrated in front of Parliament, calling on the U.K government to do more to stop the acts by their ally Turkey.

“The UK government has kept silent about the killings conducted by the Turkish government,” said Aysegul Erdogan, an organiser.

An English born Activist, Mark Campbell, expressed his disgust at the UK government for not stepping up to give voice to Kurdish rights and potential genocide: “I am embarrassed of this government; For years, the state has supported the Turkish state, without pause, alas, legitimised their crimes.”

The group, following the demonstration in front of parliament, travelled to theConservative Party headquarters, which they occupied and shouted slogans in the name of Kurdistan.

“Turkey is a terrorist state,” they shouted, as they were being approach by officers who wanted to remove the crowd from the privately owned property.”

The regions of Cizre, Silopi, Nusaybin and Sur have been under siege by army, resisted by local activists, including the PKK.
