The Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi (İAKM) in England held its 26th General Assembly.
İAKM, founded in 1993, held its general assembly with intense participation. The event began with the Gülbengs read by Yadigar Aslan Ana and evidence was raised. Following the board election, the financial report was read by Seyfullah Sönmez and approved by the general assembly. The activity report was presented by Murat Bektaş and Hasret Bozdoğan and accepted by the board.
For the presidency, İbrahim Has, the candidate of the white list, and Mustafa Sivas, the candidate of the blue list, made speeches and shared their projects and goals. The voting process began after the speeches. The counting that took place after the ballot boxes were closed showed that the white list emerged victorious from the election.
Following the election, messages of unity and solidarity were given. In addition, a call was made to participate in the December 21 Maraş Massacre commemoration events, emphasizing that society must act together so that this painful day is not forgotten.
Haringey Mayor Sue Jameson expressed her great pleasure in being invited to the General Assembly in her speech here. Jameson stated that the Alevi Cultural Centre made significant contributions to society in Haringey and played a major role in shaping the multicultural, fraternal life of the region. She also thanked all participants.
