Dr. Yasin Cemal Galata will sign his book, İngiltere’de Türk İzleri (Traces of Turks in England), at a discussion event organized at the Yunus Emre Institute in London.

As part of the Yunus Emre Institute’s Arts and Culture Conference Series, the book launch and signing event will take place on Thursday, October 3rd, at 7pm, where author Dr. Yasin Cemal Galata will be meeting with guest.

In his book, published by the Turkish World Research Foundation, Galata takes readers on an engaging journey following the traces of Turks in England.

Through extensive fieldwork and meticulous research in both British and Ottoman archives, the author tracks the historical presence of Turks in cities such as London, Manchester, Leeds, Portsmouth, Liverpool, and Fordingbridge. With an archaeologist’s precision, he also brings to light some forgotten works, making the book a valuable guide for those interested in the subject or planning to visit England.

In 2010, he joined the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) as a documentary producer. He contributed to the establishment of the TRT World London Bureau. Galata has also held administrative and academic positions at Cyprus Adakent University and Kocaeli University of Health and Technology. He has published articles in national and international journals.

Having conducted field research in over 40 countries, primarily focusing on the Turkish World, Galata continues his research on Turkish cultural history and the Turks abroad.
