On Friday, the 27th of October, a group of young teenagers recovering from Leukemia had the opportunity to visit London for the first time. These young teens, accompanied by LÖSEV Social Work County Coordinator Dr. Jülide Arifoğlu and medical staff, embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
The 4-day trip to London had been highly anticipated. Originally planned for the beginning of October, the trip was intended for them to attend TWPA’s donation event and 50th-anniversary celebration. Unfortunately, due to visa delays and paperwork issues, this plan had to be postponed.
The group was comprised of six teenagers from Istanbul and Ankara, all of whom have been in the process of recovering from Leukemia, a form of blood cancer. The trip was made possible through the generous contributions of volunteers and sponsors, and it was initiated upon receiving an invitation from TWPA, an organization dedicated to raising donations for the LÖSEV charity.
During their visit, TWPA members and the group spent time conversing and sharing meals. They even prepared goodie bags for the teens and helped them check off an item from their London bucket list as they took a walk to Turnpike Lane Station, where they had the opportunity to see an underground train.
TWPA member Semahat Mustafa expressed her joy at finally seeing the group visit London and spend time with TWPA members. She emphasized that they were pleased to see the teenagers’ recovery and that their continued support for LÖSEV would assist more Leukemia patients on their journey to recovery.
