PIANIST Gülsin Onay gave a recital at Cambridge University to collect donations for those affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
In a statement, Onay said: “After nearly 3 weeks of mourning for our lives lost in the February 6 earthquake, it was a privilege to be back on stage for a charity recital at the beautiful Stanley Library at Gitron College, Cambridge, to raise funds to help UNICEF. The hall was fully booked and we raised a magnificent sum for our cause.”
The donations collected at the piano recital will be donated to the UNICEF Turkish National Committee. These donations will be used to provide emergency psychosocial support to children, to assess their health and nutritional needs with main water stations and services, and to distribute winter clothing, blankets, family and travel hygiene kits for children.
