IN a statement calling for the stop to war and the current stand on the UK’s foreign policy Day-Mer said: “With the military intervention in Ukraine, which Britain and the USA have been provoking Russia for months, the war, the disaster and destruction caused by wars began to spread to the world this time from the territory of Ukraine. Russian military intervention in Ukraine is unacceptable. For whatever reason, the USA, Britain and NATO are responsible for this intervention, which was initiated by Putin and should be condemned, as well as Russia…”
Making reference to Iraq during Tony Blair’s movement and the role of the US, their statement Day-Mer added that “the blood and tears of the poor Ukrainian peoples, workers and labourers, who have no interest in these conflicts and wars.”
“…The arming of the region, which has been intensified at a record level since World War II, should be ended, all military forces of all countries should be withdrawn from the region, NATO’s expansion to the east of Europe should be stopped. The working people of England have no interest in the blood spilled from Ukraine. Johnson, who had a large share in this intervention, will use the war to cover up the economic problems and poverty that have deepened with the Covid-19 epidemic and crisis. Capital and its representatives, who have an interest in the war, will try to divide the workers and laborers, who are united against the ever-deepening poverty, with nationalism. For this reason, we have to fight together as local and migrant workers to defend peace against the warmongering of the British Government. We must oppose the war in Ukraine just as we oppose the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq.
