TWPA makes donations toward Baby Asya treatment fund

IN a campaign to raise funds for what has been called the world most expensive treatment, a donation has been made by the Turkish Women’s Aid Association (TWPA towards Baby Asya treatments who lives in North Cyprus.

Baby Asya is the second child of the Polatlı couple, is being treated for SMA Type 1 diagnosis. The treatment of a 9-month-old with SMA Type 1 continues at Ankara City Hospital. A special doctor was appointed for Baby Asya.

In a campaign to raise $2.5 million in treatment cost to cover the fee, people from across north Cyprus have been donating and once news spread to the UK, many members of the Turkish Cypriot community have also made donations.

Speaking to the Londra Gazete, TWPA President Semahat Mustafa said “We will do our best for the health of a child. It is very important that we provide solidarity and help all of us for the recovery of our Asian baby. Our children are more precious than anything else. Our children are not only our future but our present as well. We wish our baby Asya a speedy recovery and patience for her family.”
