STREATHAM Common in South London will be the first place in the UK to trial Sainsbury’s new electric grocery delivery bikes.
The pilot will see 5 new zero emission bikes deliver up to 100 orders per day. Local customers who shop online with the retailer will be eligible for this new service. The trail will be looking out how effect the electric cargo bikes will be in delivering customers their order is busy cities.
The bikes seem to carry many benefits; they are able to use cycles lanes this will avoid traffic and this will reduce the time it take for deliver to be made, the bike themselves are much smaller and this means less trouble situation the bike outside of the deliver address a problem big deliver vans face. The bikes are zero emission and zero noise pollution all helping the environment.
Depending on the success of the trail this pilot may be trailed in other areas across the UK.
