Turkish Cypriot athlete become world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Turkish Cypriot athlete Muhammed Mustafa achieved great success by becoming the world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Mustafa became the world champion by winning the gold medal in the Men’s Black Belt / Master 1 / Lightweight (under 69 kg) category in the organization held in Istanbul as part of the 2025–2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour.
This tournament was the last gi (jersey) competition of the year and Mustafa claimed the championship title with an impressive performance. After winning the championship, the young athlete thanked his coach, his teammates at Checkmat Essex club and his sponsor Yuki Kimonos for their support.
