The Turkish and Kurdish Community Solidarity Centre (DAY-MER), have announced their 36th annual Culture and Arts Festival. Reflecting the multicultural structure of UK and bringing together different segments of society for years, the festival will begin on June 1, 2025 and end with a grand park festival to be held in Clissold Park in London on July 6, 2025.
DAY-MER’s Culture and Arts Festival draws attention not only with its entertaining events, but also with its sensitivity to social issues. A wide range of events will be organized within the scope of the festival, including various panels, theatre performances, concerts, talks, film screenings and children’s activities. The aim is to strengthen social solidarity and encourage cultural production through events that appeal to all age groups and interests.
The festival will open their week long program with a traditional picnic event on Sunday, June 1. The picnic, which will be held in a friendly environment surrounded by nature, will include music concerts, folk dance shows and various workshops. This event aims to both offer participants an enjoyable day and strengthen social ties.
DAY-MER officials emphasize that the purpose of the festival is not only to organize cultural events, but also to shed light on current problems in society, to direct young people to art and to increase solidarity among immigrant communities. The aim is to create public opinion with panels on topics such as immigrant rights, labour struggle, education, women and youth during the festival.
The closing event to be held at Clissold Park on July 6 will be held with a large turnout this year, as it does every year. The park festival will create a true festival atmosphere with artists taking the stage, cultural stands, local foods and special events for children. DAY-MER invites the entire community to this multicultural and participatory festival.
