The capital of the United Kingdom, London, hosted a significant event that brought together the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities. On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the “Bicommunal Cyprus Festival” (BCF25) was held at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green, aiming to celebrate cultural heritage and strengthen the bonds of friendship.
The day long festival offered a wide-ranging program reflecting Cypriot culture. The event aimed to promote cultural interaction between the two communities and enhance social cohesion.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed a variety of cultural activities unique to Cyprus. The main attractions included: Traditional Cypriot food, desserts, and beverages, Musical and cultural performances by Cypriot musicians and artists, Stalls displaying handicrafts and traditional products, Art and culture-themed talks and workshops and Educational and entertaining activities for children.
A special area dedicated to children featured theatre performances, creative games, art workshops, and educational programs led by professional instructors. This space was designed to ensure children had fun while also learning about Cypriot culture.
The organizers emphasized that the Bicommunal Cyprus Festival was not merely a cultural event but also a platform promoting peace, unity, and mutual understanding.
