Ashura Day was held at the IAKM-Cemevi

Following 12-day fast, members of Alevi community joined together at the England Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi (İAKM- Cemevi) where Ashura was shared.

On Sunday 22 August meals prepared by their members in the Cemevi kitchen and Ashura was distributed to the members and guests who attended the event.

The opening of the event took place with the speech of Helin Yalçın, one of the members of the Cemevi. Chairman of the Board of Faith, Dede Ali Dereli, woke up the cerag, and shared soup. On behalf of İAKM- Cemevi Board of Directors, thanked guests İbrahim Has and Saniye Uyan for their participation.

He emphasized how important society is in terms of unity, solidarity and solidarity,  Dede Dereli, he expressed the importance and meaning of the belief in the way of ashura. Kazım Yıldırım Dede expressed the same emphasis in English.

Local councillors, including Yasemin Brett and Erdal Doğan among the participants, Israfil Erbil, President of the British Alevi Federation (BAF), Hüseyin Üzüm, one of the former presidents of the Cemevi, Hasan Gül one of the administrators of the Enfield Alevi Cultural Center, Doncaster Alevi Cultural Centre as well as Jale Özer Chair of the Ataturk Society UK, were just a few names of the large number people that joined together at the event.

Speaking at the event, BAF President Erbil said: “We would like to establish a better world with the taste of Ashura full of peace, brotherhood and love in the world where there is oppression. Our struggle will continue until the world becomes a beautiful place with the taste of Ashura and the city of Rıza as in our ideal. May the services of all our souls who contributed to the realization of this event be accepted.”
