AFTER the approval of the new Turkish GCSE exam curriculum prepared by Edexcel in January, the new Turkish Level Curriculum was approved by Ofqual week. The new approved Turkish exam curriculums will be taught from the beginning of the next academic year (September 2018) and students will enter their first exam in the summer of 2020.

New Turkish exam grades can be used in all areas, including all other courses, including entrance to the university. The biggest change in the new Turkish GCSE examinations, which were organised and approved by the government in the final stages of the exam and curriculum changes under the framework of the educational reform program, are the examination of the exam at the Foundation Tier and Higher Tier levels separately.

In addition, GCSE Turkish exam grades will be given between 1-9, like all other courses, and will be replacing the letters grading (A *-G). The first examination of the new curriculum, which will be started by September 2018, will be held from May to June 2020. The Turkish GCSE exam, which is currently being conducted by the OCR conclude its last exam in the summer of 2019.

For students, the continuity of the exams will be ensured without loss of years or grievance between the two curricula. In the new Turkish Language Level Examination, the AS Level midterm exams that already exist are going to be removed. After a two-year teaching period, students will enter three separate tests in the framework of reading, listening and writing skills.

In the new exam curriculum, students will be expected to do research on specific topics and make analyses and evaluations on certain books and certain films they will read alongside their writing. Students will also be required to apply the Turkish grammar they have learned.

Unlike the GCSE exam, students who want to re-take a test to raise their grades in the Turkish Language Level Exam will be given a final opportunity during the summer of 2020 and this curriculum will be finished.
